My Summer Vacation Project
Students will be able to describe the human and physical characteristics of modern world regions, such as distribution of natural resources and modifications to the environment, by constructing, interpreting, and using appropriate maps, graphs, charts, and data. Originally designed for elementary school, can be adjusted for higher DOK depending on academic level of students. Uses GOOGLE EARTH.

Water Availability in the U.S.
Use National Geographic FieldScope to Investigate Patterns of Water Availability and Precipitation in the United States
This unit is designed to teach students about water availability and the impacts of human activity on the watersheds we live in. Watershed Dynamics promotes the use of authentic scientific data and technology in high school classrooms. Students and teachers learn to use geographic information system (GIS) tools and various data sets to answer questions about the environment.

Everyone Has a Culture—Everyone Is Different
This activity invites students to identify aspects of culture that influence our own behavior and sometimes make it difficult to understand the behavior of other people. Culture is a complex idea, and teachers should be prepared to offer students many examples of cultural features.

Amazing Student Race - Global Project:
Students are invited to travel the world and visit virtual pit stops. Students and/or teachers in each respective location have created pit stops designed to educate visitors about where they live. Pit stops are all unique but typically feature a short video, facts about each location as well as a Google Form / Quiz consisting of approximately three to five questions and a brainteaser. Once students complete the Google Form, they will receive an email containing the correct answers as well as a stamp for their virtual passport.

1 week lesson: Will the Air Be Clean Enough To Breathe? What are the interactions of factors that affect a region's air quality?
Students explore the air quality index and factors that contribute to poor air quality events. Students use models to explore how pollutants move throughout the atmosphere. Students explore data about the sources and consequences of different types of pollutant emissions. Students use models to explore how primary pollutant emissions interact with environmental components to form secondary pollutants. Students also examine how secondary pollutants impact the environment and human health. Students use models to explore how atmospheric structure and conditions affect the severity of a pollution event. Students examine some methods of reducing emissions from polluti
